+ The Rustic
Other than the fact that Badu is from here and I have yet to meet her or go to a show (don't judge me!), Dallas food is something I've been hearing about for a while. The Rustic is a spot we heard about because of their live shows and their signature meals/drinks, and I had to try their Rustic signature drink and burger (bomb!). A Dallas man we befriended hooked us up by sending us to a restaurant owned by a friend of his, known for its BBQ, Smokey John's! The family that owns the restaurant are quite respected!
Dallas people are noticeably kind! I had ease as a black girl navigating through the city!
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical
A huge garden filled with beauty to see! Mother Nature at its finest!
jfk assasination site
I didn't realize until I was on my way to the city that this is where JFK was killed. Him being my favorite president after Obama, I had to visit and see what Dealey Plaza was about. It was sad being in the atmosphere, where you'll find historians or just die-hard JFK fans selling conspiracy theories by the assassination site. It's all quite interesting and worth a visit!
We totally had to sneak on the lawn to do this but it was worth it! Isn't this cool? We casually walked by and I noticed it. Imagine how scared we were lol!
